Kent District Library patrons can now nourish their minds and their bodies at the library, thanks to a unique collaboration with the Kent Intermediate School District and Kentwood Farmers Market.
The Michigan Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network focuses on setting prescribing recommendations for providers, distributing Naloxone, reducing surplus opioids, and more.
“I love being able to help people with their skin, educating and empowering them to have confidence and always go for the best results,” says Maddison Riehl, the owner of Lille Piece of Heaven in St. Clair.
“I want Standard… No Gas to be a destination and not just coming to get your haircut. I want it to be loving here, to promote feeling happy and safe. And with the staff we have currently, I’m sure we won’t disappoint,” says owner AJ Woodruff.
There’s no shortage of things to do in downtown Port Huron this Saturday, that’s for sure.
“The lessons learned, tools gained, and relationships built addressing our financial challenges must now be pivoted to addressing our other generational challenges such as workforce housing, childcare shortages, neighborhood revitalization and economic development,” says Port Huron City Manager James Freed.
The 5 Healthy Towns Foundation sought new ways to address rising mental health issues in Chelsea, Dexter, Grass Lake, Manchester, and Stockbridge. One solution it identified was equipping faith leaders to help.
"With each of our children, we strive to meet three long-term goals: to ensure they graduate from high school, to keep them out of the juvenile justice system, and to help prevent them from becoming teen parents. Our mentors spend at least four one-on-one hours a week with their children, two hours in the classroom and two outside of it, exploring and sharing activities and experiences together."
The Battle Creek Family YMCA has implemented a variety of initiatives to address lack of access to fresh food and vegetables in its community.
“I wanted to give back. And living downtown, I wanted to show off all the cool things happening here,” says Cecelia Shuler, founder of Downtown Imaging Co.
