The Spotted Lanternfly, native to Asia, was recently detected in Macomb County. On April 29, Goodell’s County Park will host a workshop to teach community members how to spot, prevent, and monitor the invasive insect.

Blue Water Area Transit will participate in the annual Earth Fair at Goodells County Park on April 25-26 with other local businesses and organizations to promote sustainability and finding alternative energy sources.   

There will be a variety of interactive scenes and simulators to play in and on, including the campground and riding in the kayak.

One of Kimball Township’s unique parks and recreation assets is about to become more accessible for residents and visitors alike. The Community Foundation of St. Clair County has purchased privately owned land on both sides of the Black River to develop a park featuring a canoe and kayak launch.

The local St. Clair Rotary Club announced the launch of their fund to support projects across the county. It was established through the Community Foundation of St. Clair County.

Disaster Response Fund Reaches $100,000

A new year-end gift from a donor-advised fund has pushed the Disaster Response Fund for St. Clair County to the $100,000 level. The Community Foundation of St. Clair County launched the fund a year ago in response to growing natural and man-made disasters around the country.

Blue Water Area Transit program ‘Missed the Bus, Just Call us!’ brings added benefits to residents

Catching the bus can be quite a hassle, but with BWAT's new program, students can obtain a free ride to or from school if they miss the bus. The organization also recently became the first public transit agency in Michigan to operate electric transit buses.
