Once Chef Jacob Verstegen was situated in Michigan, he spent his first six weeks visiting and forging partnerships with local farms. "I came to farms to find out what's gonna grow, and make sense, and talked to the farmers."

Amy Amiels started out wanting to find a storefront for her accounting business. After having no luck, that business idea grew into something much bigger when she and her partners launched the co-working space Dock 421 in Algonac.
