The Big Give on May 14 to support local non-profits across St. Clair County
This year, on May 14, the Community Foundation is hosting The Big Give event, a 24-hour giving rally that supports local nonprofits and highlights philanthropic efforts.

What’s Happening: The Community Foundation of St. Clair County is hosting its recurring event, The Big Give. The event brings together local nonprofits to celebrate philanthropy through a 24-hour fundraiser. Community members are encouraged to come and support the work done by organizations that benefit causes, including veteran services, environmental initiatives, education, and many more.
When: May 14, 2025, from 12 a.m to midnight.
Why it Matters: “The Big Give is a powerful way to support multiple charities in one place, on one special day,” says Patti Manley, chairperson of the Community Foundation. “It’s a simple and exciting way to give back, with the added bonus of multiplying your impact through various prize pools and matching funds. Giving is easy—just follow your heart on May 14 and support the causes that matter most to you.”
The Big Give’s Previous Impact on Community: In 2021, The Big Give raised over $700,000 in 24 hours, and in the last giving days, the event generated more than $2.2 million for local organizations.
Who’s Involved: Over 60 nonprofit organizations are involved in the Big Give, including the Algonac-Clay Township Historical Society, Blue Water Allies, Blue Water Recovery & Outreach Center, SONS Outreach, and more.
How It’s Possible: Beyond direct donations, this event is supported by the Women’s Initiative, St. Clair Endowment Funds, The Knowlton Foundation Fund, Redmond Family Fund, and the James C. Acheson Foundation.
What Can You Do: Folks can donate online and in person at the Community Foundation at 500 Water St. in Port Huron.
